Phillies 16 2 Marlins 7 Sep 2024 Game Recap

Phillies Crush Marlins 16-2 for 10th Straight Win

Dominant Performance Propels Phillies to Victory

The Philadelphia Phillies continued their remarkable run of form on Tuesday night, demolishing the Miami Marlins 16-2 at Citizens Bank Park. The victory marked the Phillies' 10th consecutive win and extended their lead in the NL East to 10 games.

Phillies' Offense Explodes

The Phillies' offense was in top form against the Marlins, pounding out 17 hits including three home runs. Bryce Harper led the way with a 4-for-5 performance, including a solo homer and a double. Kyle Schwarber also went deep, launching a two-run shot in the first inning to give the Phillies an early lead.

Nola's Gem

On the mound, Aaron Nola was brilliant for the Phillies. The right-hander tossed seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits and two walks while striking out eight batters. Nola's outing lowered his ERA to 3.05 on the season.

Marlins' Struggles Continue

The Marlins have now lost 11 of their last 12 games and are in danger of falling out of contention in the NL East. Their offense has been particularly anemic, scoring just 11 runs in their last four games.

The Phillies, meanwhile, have won 22 of their last 26 games and are looking like a legitimate contender in the NL. They will look to continue their winning ways when they host the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night.
